Xenial Consulting are working with a leading Essex based logistics business who are currently seeking to add an experienced Assistant Accountant to their Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the following:

• Assisting with Month/Year End accounts preparation
• Preparation of Trial Balance
• Journal posting
• Bank reconciliation
• VAT returns
• Reviewing and correcting weekly revenue reports
• Full ownership of sales and purchase ledger duties and associated queries
• Credit Control and monitoring of customer credit limits, including credit checks
• Maintenance of the fixed assets register
• Petty cash maintenance
• Assisting with audits
• Other ad-hoc duties

You will either be AAT qualified or qualified by experience with at least 3 years experience in a similar role, ideally within an SME environment. You will need strong excel skills and a sound knowledge of debits/credits and account reconciliation.

This is a full-time office based position, 8.30am – 17.30pm, Monday – Friday and would be a great opportunity for someone who has, or is looking to gain, exposure to all aspects of finance within a medium-sized business.
